    Phil is correct, Radar is a real safety issue. (Sorry to add to your
    budget, but you want to bring'em back alive). A 4 KW provides better
    resolution, but a 2 KW is better than no radar at all. By a used
    mono-color system if you can't afford a new system and install it
    yourself (it's easy). And yes, I know that Columbus and Magellan
    didn't have radar, but today it is available, and it is a valuable aid
    for safety AND navigation.

     Radar is a Gotta-Have, a safety essential. It gives you a way to see
