    I don't think that you can go wrong with either Raymarine or Furuno -
    I have the Furuno 1834c Navnet Radar/chartplotter.

    You didn't mention radar. If you are going to purchase radar, the
    only suggestion that I would make is that now is the time,
    incorporated with the radar, and do not skimp on the power. Too many
    with small boats buy small radar - heck, even some with larger boats
    buy low powered radar.

    If you possibly can, go with 4kw rather than 2. It's not the range
    so much as the ability to punch through fog and drizzle that`s
    important.
