    I have the emergency rudder for the Monitor...thankfully, I have never had to use it.
       
      One suggestion....when attaching the control lines to the "paddle" down low....put a loop in the end so that if the line need replacement , when at sea, it is an easy matter to reach down with a boat hook and pull a new line thrul
       
      I had to replace mine in the middle of the pacific by climbing over the back and doing it....at 72 years old and a solo sailor, it scared the _(*_(*^^%^%$$# out of me.
