Oops!!! I've got a Sailomat with the emergency
rudder, not a Scanmar. Sorry about that.

I've currently got a Monitor (Scanmar) installed. It
doesn't work for beans with the wheel on My Pearson
    35. I'm going to re-route the way the PO set up the
steering control lines and see if that solves the
problem. If it doesn't, the monitor will be for sale
    and I'll install the Sailomat.

If that doesn't work, I'll dump the wheel and go to a
tiller. My experience with pendulum servo self
steering vanes is they will steer the boat if the boat
will sail. Always had a tiller with my other PS
steered boats, however. May be a problem with the
wheel and my very high expectations, based on previous
experience, of what a PS system can do with a tiller.

In any case, if you want pictures of the Sailomat
emergency rudder sytem let me know.

    Aloha
