I have had a Strong Seal on my P-36 for 6 years , installed it myself when I replaced the original shaft with a new SS shaft. Never had any problem with it at all. No need for burping since the water enters from the water pump/engine. No more water in the bilge from the shaft; just from the keel stepped mast.
