    Sounds like those who have no experience with Teflon or GoreTex are the only
    ones that pooh-pooh it.

    A few years ago I talked to a salesman for the PSS Dripless Shaft seal. He
    was honest and admitted that they must be installed very carefully with
    attention to every detail and periodically maintained, or they will leak.

    I read a story from a cruiser a few years ago regarding his PSS Dripless
    shaft seal. The double set screws had loosened, and while he was ashore his
    boat was flooding. Fortunately he returned to his boat in time to save it.

    Why would anyone want anything other than a simple, time tested, cheap, easy
    to install design..?
    And spares are less than $10.
