He he we cut that by 50% - we shower together and wash each others hair at
the same time i have to say my hair is much much much longer than my female
partners he he.
Being in the Caribbean I was taking US gallons but i suppose to compare
apples and apples we should all talk in litres here.
ON a different but connected topic a long time ago before pressurised water
systems were 'the norm' we had a non sailing friend on board and she was
operating the whale foot pump and asked "when does the water get hot" it was
suggested to her that she would have to pump very very fast to heat the water.
She was also a daily hair washer but that was 'fixed' quickly when she was
tasked to go ashore in the dinghy with four five Imp Gallon water jugs to refill
the water tanks. 'the good old days'
regards

Showers: I was amazed at how much water a shower requires. Friends
have a water flow meter on their boat and I found that even what
seemed a very careful shower took 3 gallons. Testing found that
washing hair over a sink takes at least 1 gallon for shoulder length
hair.
