living in miami i am not surprised by this -- i really
do not think this will end up well for the crew or the
families -
there is a lot of nonsense down here that never sees
the light of day -
i have been flagged down twice to assist people who
said they ran out of fuel or could not get their power
boat started - even before i get to close i call coast
guard and boatus and give my position and tell them
what i am doing and will report back in x minutes
this is just not the place to really trust a lot of
folks out in the ocean and you must take precautions
had a long talk the other day with a local water law
enforcement officer and asked about how all the cubans
manage to get ashore without being caught and he
really opened my eyes to what goes on out there and it
was indeed interesting (also got the same story from a
cuban who was snuck in)
we can only keep the crew in our prayers
