    Attention Chuck
    :

Yes, I agree with you about sep. units....Ihave not interconnected any two items on my boat....have been cruising , single handed for almost 6 years now...even two transpacs.

Separate units are not as handy as a "all inclusive" one unit, however, if one item fails and you have a "all inclusive" UNIT...you have lost everything.

Example:" My GPS failed in mid pacific....I traced the problem and found it was a simple item. The mfr had used a "screw on" coax connector, instead of a solder on connector. So if you are cruising this might be something you would check out before leaving.

GPS antenna....using a small cottage container, and about 4" of wire I made a groundplane gps antenna that runs rings around the "patch" antennas used in some gps units

If anyone neeed info, email me and I'll send you the construction details.

      Susan

If you don't change direction you will arrive exactly where you're headed!!
