Or, as I have done: get TWO inverter/chargers. Allows usage as below, and also allows for a readily available 'spare' inverter in case of failure of the primary one. FWIW, I have a Prosine 2.0 (primary) and an old 'iron' Heart 2KW for my backup. Both have worked OK, though at times I count myself lucky with the Prosine as I have seen several people with issues.

Another thing, going this approach not only solves the 110 / 220v issue, but also the whole 50/60hz issue. Just run everything off of your invert, and use the 2nd one as a 'charger' (make sure it will charge from 50hz 1st though :-)

From a cruiser who knows....do NOT get a combination inverter/charger...yes they are a bit cheaper than separaqte unites...however, if you are going to curise you need a charger with 220v input....either a charger with 110/220v input or when you get to foreign port just get a charger for 220.....by far the cheaper and best way to go........suggest national chargers, theyt are mfd of SS and have a switch to flip for 110/220._,_._,___
