We are using C-Map cartridges in a Furuno radar chart plotter. In
hindsight I wish I had gone standalone for each unit. Both the chart
plotter and the radar have to be on. The sleep mode on he radar only
reduces the amperage draw by a small amount because the unit is still
fired up and running the chart plotter. Hence a larger drain on the
batteries if you only want to run the plotter. Or trying to run the
radar in sleep mode is a waste of time.
