while this will work, the resultant drink is hyperosmolar and
will eventually cause dehydration. Many variables go into
determining how long a person can be sustained by a hyperosmolar
dextrose solution.
And by the way, this idea is at least 40 years old.

I wondered about that. When I was racing road bikes, one thing we had to
be very careful of was what we drank when in a race just for that reason
primarily. -Ken
