[world-cruising] safe Brazilian ports

I am planning to transit the equator southward about a year from now.
My planned itinerary will take me from Bermuda to the Falklands in a
single leg. This is at least 100 days at sea by my estimation. The
waypoints will take me along the Brazilian coast, but at a healthy
distance. I am acquiring a Brazilian visa just in case I need to make
landfall. Otherwise, I have no plans to visit Brazil.

All this to ask... what are the opinions of safe harbor on Brazil's
southeast coast? Piracy is a concern in the Amazon delta, but even
south of this area I would think a cruiser should be wary.

Are my concerns unwarranted? Thanks for any help.
