    Thanks for all of the immediate answers to my question related to the
    Tayana with the cabin stepped mast. The reason I used the term 'cabin
    stepped' rather than 'deck stepped', is that is how the particular
    boat is advertised. The comments are very interesting. As I studied for
    my offshore certification, one comment was "don't go blue water with a
    deck stepped mast, so it was good to see all the responses. As to the
    Tayana not being blue water capable, that was not the question, the
    deck stepped mast vs keel stepped was. As a newbie sailor, vs 40 yrs on
    the water under power, this group is great.
