I will be skippering a 50 foot sailboat from Hilo, Hawaii to San
Francisco, California. We hope to leave on July 20, 2007.
I am looking for any pointers or advice on route planning. I sailed
this same boat as crew from SF to Hawaii a few years ago. This will be
my first crossing as skipper. We have good weatherfax, radar, and
email capabities. The boat is well equiped and we will have a crew of 6
people. I plan on heading north from Hawii to skirt the Pacific High
and follow it around to the US coastline and then sail south to San
Francisco.
Any advice on things I should get or read or plan would be appreciated.
