    Thanks, Bill. Our situation with these filters is resolved, but just
    for clarification I should point out that just because one has a newer
    boat one should not assume they have the newer style housing. We met
    a Beneteau owner yesterday. He ordered his boat in 2004 and it was
    constructed in 2004. It has the older style housing and he must use
    the adapters.

    Beneteau makes a lot of boats each year. Apparently it took or will
    take some years after 1997 before all the inventory of the older style
    housings at the various boat manufacturers is depleted and only the
    newer style housings are installed. Still do not understand why a new
    part number was not assigned to this element and filter. That would
    have prevented any problems.
