In your case I would suggest one of the antennas ment for cars. For instance the Hustler. I used one for years on my car and had fantastic results....in fact I have on board right now for an emergency antenna....if my mast goes and there is no wind (Also have a box kite to raise up an antenna...but it needs wind)
The hustler also has coils available for4 the marine bands...try their web site for info (googled)
