    Peter,

Thanks for writing and looking up the link. I had read that article
previously. Stan Honey's arguments against bonding were very convincing,
and none of my through-hulls are bonded. I have a prop zinc and one hull
zinc connected to the shaft with a shaft brush. The engine is also
grounded, but NOT to the RF ground. The quotation you mailed left out that
part that says "To avoid making another DC ground to the engine "... But my
engine is not part of the RF ground. So I am still not truly believing I
have a ground loop through the antenna tuner to the engine, but it cannot
hurt to have the capacitors in the circuit so I'll probably install them. I
might ask Gordon West what he thinks of this.

By the why, long URLs get broken up by the Yahoo group mailer. When you
post a long URL go to www.tinyurl.com and convert it. E.g. the link to Stan
    Honey's grounding article is:

    http://tinyurl.com/25mtx2

    Best regards,

    Jeff

    Jeff,
Go to West Marine's web site:
    /-1/10001/MarineGroundingSystems.htm>
This will explain 'Marine Grounding Systems' & show you the info you are
looking for: "via the HF/SSB radio copper ground strip, fasten the copper
tape securely to an insulating piece of phenolic or to a terminal strip, cut
a 1/10" gap across the tape, and solder several
10.15 uF ceramic capacitors across the gap."

    Hope this helps.
