    I had understood it was not a problem if your single through-hull is not
    bonded to anything else. What size/type of capacitors do you recommend?

    Well, that is a large counterpoise and I'm sure it works fine.
    However, depending on the ground arrangement through your radio, it may be a
    recipe for dangerous electrolysis. The connection to the thru-hull should
    be done with RF capacitors that will block direct current.
