I've installed a ssb transceiver and connected it to the insulated
backstay. Now I'm looking for a place for an antenna for the navtex-
receiver. I've learned the electro magnetic energy from a transmitting
ssb can creep into the navtex receiver and there is a risk of damaging
it. I got my Fastnet Radio FMD55P when we bought the boat and I grew
very fond of this (ridiculously expensive) unit.

There must be lots of cruisers out there who use a ssb-transceiver as
    well as a navtex.
What antenna-solution do you use on your boat?
How much distance do you maintain between the ssb-antenna and f.i. a
    short-whip active navtex-antenna?
Any experience with a damaged receiver as a result of transmitting
    from the ssb?

    Thanks,
    Len.
