    I sailed from Port Angeles on 10 June last year and had a lot of southerly winds until I
    reached Coos Bay. I left there on the 18th of June with near gale winds out of the NW.
    Depending on the winds and seas you may find the trip more comfortable if you stay about
    100 miles offshore. You'll also avoid most of the coastal traffic.

    Pilot charts and wx fax will be be a good guide for planning.
