    Hello!

Can anyone tell me about changing the country of registration for a boat?

We are purchasing a boat (30' Nonsuch) within the next week or so . . . this
is a private deal, no broker involved . . . the current owner has just told
us that it is registered in Ireland. We are in Canada. The boat has
resided in Canada for the last 5 years, but they used it as a live-aboard in
    Ireland before that.

Can anyone tell me what will be involved in changing ownership? I don't
think we will have to pay duty or anything like that (I hope!) . . .
probably just a fee to change the registration?

Thanks so much for any input you can offer!!!

    Trish
