[world-cruising] San Diego to Hawaii in July

    Hey all,

About a month ago, I agreed to help an owner move his Islander 36 from San
Diego to Hawaii. The initial date of departure was May15, weather depending.
Due to refitting delays, the date was moved back to June 1st. Now the boat
yard issues and a shake down cruise have pushed the date to about July 1st.

Is this too late in the year to consider a crossing? I am very concerned
about it being hurricane season in the Pacific. I am a confident rough
weather sailor but I do not want to test my outer limits on my first major
    crossing.

Thanks for any and all advice,

    Jim
