    There are several more factors, chief of which are shape of underwater body,
    cleanliness of hull, cleanliness of screw, proper pitch, and condition of
    engine. My first engine, for example, could never produce its advertised 40
    HP without overheating. For another, I can easily lose up to 2 knots with a
    barnacle-encrusted prop.
