    - and lucky - in those days.

    I'd joined SSCA a year or so earlier, and devoured all the articles. One,
    in particular, jumped out. The author said, "We're sailing a XXX, because
    we could afford it. If we'd had enough money, we would have bought a
    Valiant." I hadn't heard a recommendation like that before, so I began
    investigating. Eventually, I cancelled the Pacific Seacraft I had on order
    and purchased a nice brokerage Valiant. No regrets.
