    Brandon,

As a retired Coastie (I spent most of my career on the Pacific Coast), I
    offer two words of advice:

    Ship it.

The S2 is a very lightly built boat. The short center cockpit model gives a
wet ride, and the northbound trip up the Pacific Coast is a slog. I've
known several sailors who sail from Panama to Hawaii to Puget Sound to avoid
thousands of miles of bashing into the weather. The S2 is not built to take
that punishment. If you have ten weeks to sail, use them in Puget Sound.
