    In answer to why am I checking my email when at sea....being a single handed sailor it gets very lonely and email gives me a sense of "being in touch", plus I want to keep in touch with my children and close friends...remember, I have been cruising for 5 years now..ALONE1.
      Yes, I meet people, make aquaintences (sp?) but it is not the same as having someone on board...thus email.
       
      My parrot is company, but she is not too good at holding a converseion..yet.
