I belong to sailopo.com...for a few hundred dollars a year I'm on a mailing list of people looking for crew. You have to get to and from the boat, but tons of opportunities. I've crewed florida to bahamas, newport to bermuda to carribean numerous times, florida to maine, etc, etc. They have ops everywhere and of varying lengths, various types of boats...mention REBECCA TAFT when you call and he will give you a few bucks off. I have learned a ton from getting on different boats with different captains and crews. Have had a lot of fun too!

Subj: [world-cruising] Hints on where to find crewing opportunities

Hi to all,
I have been lurking on this list for sometime now and have been the recipient of some considerable insight into the "world" of world-cruising, for which I thank you all.
Although not quite ready to head off over the horizon, it is my ultimate goal (someday). Meawhile I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me where a person could look for crewing positions in order to gain some experience, before setting off themselves.
Is there any particular websites/groups? Possibilities to assist with a boat delivery? Any suggestions appreciated!
Thanks, Scott
