We were there in the early 1970's. My son lives out near Asheville and races on Lake Norman near Charlotte. We've chartered out of Washington a couple of years ago because my son wanted to go back to some of the places we went when he was little. He has since chartered there a couple of other times.

I keep Capella at Minnesott Beach, right across the river from Cherry Pt.
Only arrived last Oct and have been so involved with the new house that we
haven't done any sailing of note. I will say the population in nowhere near
what I left in Annapolis. I'm sure Blackbeard would find it a bit cramped,
but I think this place is heaven!
