    Sal,

    Check the hole the pin goes through. If it is wallowed out or
    irregularly shaped, then you need to replace the anchor. I believe
    that the CQR anchors that the Moorings used were basically knock-off
    CQRs. Wearing at that pin hole is fairly typical of those anchors
    after a few years. The anchor will not hold properly if that hole
    is not properly shaped and properly sized for the pin. If it is
    wallowed out, replace the anchor. When our boat phased out last
    year, the anchor had to be replaced for that very reason.
