That's a 40 knot gust in Halifax and about a 50 knot gust "observed in the
news report". Both are a long way from hurricane strength and even longer
from "100 MPH winds". Were the news reports based upon someone's actual
recorded data, or simply taking someone's inflated description at face
value?
