I use the small Canon scanner, may be used in an almost upright
position too and runs directly from the USB-port, no external power
supply needed.
Years ago I had a wonderfull "travelling" Logitech, wonderfull as you
could scan almost a meter or yard in one go, 210mm wide, a few scans
on board and a whole chart was copied, but there are no drivers for
windows XP
For a screen grab I suggest you try (free software utilities) at:
follow the menu: software > overview > system utilities > capture
It is a very small utility program that just does what it says and
still gives you some choices.
Some other nice programs there too ;-)
