WOW, imagine that, Alberto turns into a cat III hurricane and no one
knows it. NOAA blows it again.
Yea right:-)

My point exactly and since i will be sailing in the Hurricane belt soon i am
on weathercarib.com and the links to the NOAA pages daily. Being the first
named storm of the 2006 season i was watching Alberto till it disappeared from
the tracking charts - sadly i did not save all the charts and i cant find a
history chart of Alberto online to check out this assertion - that does not
match my memory of Alberto.
FACT - On wed 14th Alberto not a Hurricane nor a tropical storm but tropical
depression was well inland in NC moving at 20 mph with winds of 35 knots and
reducing in strength at 11:55 AM on the 15th the coastguard received a
mayday.
REPORTED - The Coast Guard said it believes remnants of Hurricane Alberto
created difficult sailing conditions Thursday. IINTERESTING!!! (This would
be the same coastguard that thinks they can transmit on CH16 to get a station
that has their transmitter jammed on transmit on CH16 to clear that fault)
but unlikely unless we have a new undiscovered phenomenon an instant Hurricane
that can jump about like a Kangaroo.
REPORTED - Weather conditions in the search area Friday 16th were reported
to be unlimited visibility with 7-foot seas, 51-degree water temperature and
12-knot winds. EVEN MORE INTERESTING - surely not the eye of the Hurricane -
or did the Hurricane just vanish as it arrived INSTANTLY
SUGGESTION - sounds like the Bermuda Triangle all over again OWELL.

David
