    consider. containers WEIGH ABOUT 8,000 LBS empty. and if there is something that weighs them down, at 2 opposite corners, there is a breathing hole, screened of course that would let in water and so they would sink. nuff said, carry on. I would be more worried about logs and such after being on the Amazon, the gulf of Uraba, and in Puget sound. These are dangerous areas. In Puget sound they are logs with no root patterns (but getting scarce because of government overseeing), but in undeveloped areas they have root sticking up to see. Fore warned is forearmed. Still a China shipping Container ship entered the Harbor in Long Beach California with the stack of container tilted over (see 2nd container stackover the "S" on the hull, behind the bridge), and 5 were missing. The rear stack and the one before were still nicely stacked and square. I didn't have time to scan the picture, but took a foto to post. I will scan it for a better picture. Just ask. Tim
