    I apologize to the list for beating a dead horse, but please note that a
    very small percentage of containers that are lost remain on or near the
    surface for any appreciable time. The vast majority will sink to the sea
    bottom.

    A brief story that may illustrate. Several years ago, the brokerage house I
    was working for had a new Taswell yacht shipped from Taiwan. If you're
    familiar, these yachts are among the most expensive built in that country.
    My company paid extra to have the yacht stowed in the ship's hold. Two
    other Taswells were aboard the same ship, but whoever ordered them did not
    pay extra, and theirs were shipped on the very top of the container load.
    Both were lost overboard. Both sank...or at least that's the presumption,
    as they've never been found. Considering that each was worth pretty close
    to a million dollars, I would think the insurers would insist on below decks
    transport. Don't know if there's a message here or not....
