    Not quite the same, but so close that the functional differences aren't
    material. The splice your link illustrates seems preferable, actually -- at
    least as strong, and easier to do in that it doesn't require dividing three
    strands into four. Again, no experience here as to how it'll behave on a
    gypsy. Nevertheless -- go for it!
