Hi Eric... As I recall, the problem with that string a while back was the
firearms discussion, not the pirates. The only pirates I can claim to have
contact with are the Jimmy Buffet fans in my office. And unfortunately, I only
enjoy REAL world cruising vicariously, through the posts of the sailors in this
group (and the stories I read in Cruising World). However, for those who
actually DO venture into more dangerous waters than those I frequent, it would
seem that sharing info about the dangers they might encounter is a legitimate
use of the group. Then again, I happen to agree that things got WAY out of
hand back then.
