Jim, from what I can gather, Hydration Technologies has developed their
products for military use. It was a story about that use that led me to
discover the potential applications for us. Seems like they're just now
exploring other commercial applications.
The SeaPack was designed to fit into the survival kit of pilots who might
eject over water and be injured when they land. They needed a hydration
solution that did not require pumping, because the pilot might be unable.
Seems to me to be a reasonable alternative with decent shelf life, and very
low price (as compared to a RO pump system).
