I have not gone into such detail of testing. It you meant to use the tiller pilot as a supplement attached to the windwane, that is a common practice.
I was commenting, that if you try to use a standard above-decks autopilot that is designed to be attached to the tiller of a smaller boat, belowdecks, the power of the unit will not be enough unless you actually add a tiller-sized leverage arm to the steering quadrant

Look at your own windvane, I assume that it is not a Cape Horn; It
matters not. Once you have figured out how it works you will
realize that the 'oar' is what supplies the leverage that you
correctly say one needs. You could actually use the same low
leverage AP to replace the windvane part when powering. Have you
noticed that your windvane doesn't work when you power?

Well the Cape horn works the same way but one can mount that same
low leverage AP below decks with the Cape Horn and keep it out of
the weather. It is the weather that makes the above decks AP's pack
      it in.

If your actual experiences are contrary to what I'm saying I think
we would all like to hear the specifics. If your conjecture is
contrary, please express it as such.
