    Mike, I absolutely agree. My son has one on his Alberg 30 and mine
    just arrived about a month ago and is eagerly awaiting its
    installation and can't wait until it's out of warranty:-)

    BTW, there couldn't be a bigger waste of money than an above deck AP
    on a long range crusing boat and that's all one could get for
    $1,000. A below deck AP is considerably more than windvane
    steering, when all is said and done.

    Two features that made the Cape Horn an easy decision for me was the
    ability to have it work directly off of the steering quadrant (I
    have hydraulic steering) and the fact that one can buy the least
    powerful, above deck, tiller actuating AP and use it below deck.
    Add a remote and your all set:-). And, the reason that above deck
    AP's are not worth a darn becomes mute.
