Next message: Calypso Sailing and Racing: "[world-cruising] sailing for people with disabilities"
Thank you to all who received my idea warmly because I am sure the question
will arise consistently and this will help all the members including me get
organized. I am a novice at this and my idea to buy a boat and do some
cruising....needs much forethought for me. I am trying to figure out what
would be a good blue water boat to buy. I have been noticing some of the
cheaper boats but I don't feel safe knowing they had some damage so repairs
and cutting corners it not a good place to start when thinking about my
safety and the safety of the crew out in the middle of an ocean. I have
seen where may people have done ocean sailing in 30+ footers so it this boat
big enough and how many crew members would I need and obviously very
experienced crew members to offset my lack of ocean sailing experience. I
am great at bays, lakes and shore line cruising but ocean sailing is a whole
different endeavour. I cant wait to see this awesome list the group is
putting together. Any other ways we can use the group to archive other
information would be awesome. Member ideas, experiences and more would take
us up a notch. This group is awesome and such an asset to me and the others
especially the camaraderie.
