Not so strange, Lisa. I would bet at least 90% of us have had the same
experience when back on land after a few days at sea. Every person I have
ever sailed with has had the same experience. It was worse when we first
learned to sail, but became much less pronounced over the years.
The first time we spent a full week on a boat without going ashore, the
first night ashore neither my husband nor I could stand in the shower
without bracing ourselves against the shower walls. When I laid down in
bed, I had to keep one foot on the floor to stop the room from spinning and
tilting -- just like a drunk. Much better now after sailing for so many
years. Now the effect is minimal for me and is further diminished simply by
walking as much as possible when we first reach the dock. My husband is no
longer affected at all by "land sickness."

I dont get sea sick, I have problems after coming off the boat, I know
weird. I have trouble sleeping and I feel like I am still on the boat
moving and that continues after stepping off the boat. On the boat I am
fine and cant figure out why I have such issues after coming off the boat.
Its like my body can handle being on the boat but hit land and it takes 24
hours for my body to figure out that I am off the boat...lol. I know very
strange...giggle.
