Seriously, those little voice activated radios will become a god-send.
There is not much worse than not being able to hear. It'll keep the
tension down... and like Nancy suggested, being able to communicate well
is great. We used hand signals when anchoring/docking/etc. -- nothing
verbal as hearing isn't a strong suit in our family.
Having activities and hobbies that don't take a lot of room will be
fun... both for the amusement factor and for those times when you want
to ignore that man you married, when widowhood looks and sounds great
and... well, never mind. For me, sharp needles and fabric is a REAL
BLESSING -- (insert maniacal laughter HERE) ;)
I'd not focus so much on the sickness issues -- first aid is one thing
but goodness, you're not a doctor so knowing everything isn't necessary.
You've got your HAM so call an expert rather than trying to focus on
doing it all yourself. In My Opinion.
Can you do the Heimlich maneuver? Do you have eye wash and ear wash?
Bandages and antibiotics? Rehydration? Caster oil too -- we aren't
getting any younger and well...
You'll have as much fun as you want Sharon. Folks who look for the
silver lining usually find it.
And remember: Rick may be a Captain, but you'll always be the Admiral.
