While racing on the Great Lakes in the 70's and 80's one of the most
    popular booths at most of
vending areas near the starting lines was the "Dum Dum" lollipop
booth. Remember those little round lollipops wrapped in paper ? One
of the ingredients, supposedly, in those is also one of the main
ingredients in most seasickness meds (I don't remember which one).
    Bags of these were handed
out to all of the sailboats. Anytime someone even felt the least
seasick, they would pop one in
their mouth. Now I am talking about the big races-Chicago/Mackinac,
    Port Huron/ Mackinac.
We are talking 3-5 days, and nobody that I knew ever got sick. Maybe
    it was all psychological,
    but it worked for us.
