    A couple of resources you might find interesting:
    http://www.animatedknots.com/ has clear step-by-step photos ("animations")
    of lots of different knots as well as the 3-braid eye splice. New England
    Ropes (http://www.neropes.com/) provides splicing instructions for many
    different types of splices.
