Hi Ruvane,
I dock a Niagara 26 bow to a jetty also. Yes an extra pair of hands is great but you can do it on your own.
In my case we have a mushroom sunk at the stern. Poly rope (floating) is attached to a fender so it floats. As we motor in, reversing and cutting the motor so you just move forward, you pick up the stern line out of the water with your book hook, place the loop over the winch (or cleat or whatever).
You immediately walk to the bow and with the boat hook pick up the two bow lines (that you tied together) and pull them through your bow cleats and secure the boat.
Some jetties have stern posts. In those cases you would throw your stern line over a post and walk forward to secure the bow.
I've never seen a boat come in by the stern (except for a meterranian mooring .

Hi Dwight,
My problem is also that it's not alongside the jetty, it's bow or
stern to. I have a boat to the left and to the right with my slot
lengthwise in between.
Still, your advice of having lines ready is good. I'm also thinking
of having mooring lines and separate docking lines to make it easier.
I'm off tonight for 3 days to get in some sailing, fishing and single-
handed mooring, so I'll report back on how many times I had to try to
get it right.
Amazing how much help just another pair of hands can be!
Cheers,
Ruvane.
