Any thing that you can load will give you some output. One of the caveats
in using your back stay is that you have your top insulator at least three
feet away from the mast to avoid RF coupling. I am not convinced that an
antenna wire closely coupled to a grounded stay could be a very efficient
RF radiator.
I notice they do not show any test data on their unit. I sure would like to
see some independent testing on this antenna., I notice that they make a
claim that you won't get shocked, I have always understood that what you
get is RF burn. Antennas are one product in the radio industry that
contains a lot of snake oil. I am skeptical.
And $380. ain't cheap.
