Hi Dave,
I agree that the Metvuw site is very useful. I have also found that
the weekly synopsis provided by Bob McDavitt from the New Zealand
metservice are is very helpful in understanding regional weather
patterns between the islands NZ and Aus. An email subscription can
be made through the Pangolin web site at pangolin.co.nz. The NZ
Metservice also publish a book ( METSERVICE Yacht Pack ) which is a
must read for any cruiser in the S.Pacific.
Bob's email is
Bob also provides personal weather forecasting to cruisers for a
nominal fee, I have used this service for the Tonga to NZ trip.
You may also find the summary info at Pangolin useful. The YOTREPS
yacht reporting scheme has been in existence for about 6 years and
the current archive includes about 50,000 reports from all parts of
the world. Data can be summarized by month for various regions.
