    If you want it for dockside use only, this unit will work. Once you get
    underway, it will not, unless you have a generator to run it. Note the
    requirement for 120v/20 amp circuit. Even without calculating losses, that
    would require a 200 amp circuit at 12 volts, which would probably kill your
    batteries in short order...if you didn't start a fire first!

    The other issue is that the cruisair is a bulky box that sits over a hatch.
    It will probably get in the way once you leave the dock. So you might find
    yourself hoisting the unit on and off the boat as part of your departure and
    arrival checklist.

    Marine AC units are expensive, but they shouldn't wear out quickly. They
    should last the life of the boat.
