I see you've read the owner's son's website. Your information is
incorrect. The owner could not be "forced" to abandon his boat against his
will. And there were no penalties should he have decided to stay. IIRC,
the son claimed the boat's document would have been pulled and he could not
return to the US. Ridiculous!
Just a bunch of misinformation put out by the son to win sympathy for his
father and to ignore the father's stupidity which lead to those events.
